For the first game with a brand new defensive line and corners I thought they played pretty well. Lagway was on the money for the most part all game long including some throws only a NFL QB is fitting in there. Really the only player we had trouble with was the Wes Welker lookalike Freeman. That young man ate our lunch. At 99 plays to only give up 16 points is pretty impressive. If I was going to complain about something it'd be giving up so many 4th down conversions 4 of 6. Some of those were of the longer yardage variety which was disappointing. Also if we're going to drop 8 we need to get better at finding the receivers crossing into our zones and tighten up the coverage quicker. Just like the offense needs to improve so does the defense but that's always the expectation after game-1.
