Has your view of the LSU - Ole Miss Game Changed?
Summary
QB/OL: I don't expect the LSU OL and DL to dominate OM's units like they did Clemson.
I don't expect the LSU OL and DL to dominate OM's units like they did Clemson. Then again, I didn't expect them to do what they did to Clemson. Said so prior to the opener. I was stunned by only penalty, Good running game, and physical fitness.in the OL The DL is loaded, fit, talented and the interior freshmen are men. The DE's are as well. If the LSU pass game doesn't improve substantially, the road game crowd Oxford is going to make it tough, but their team has to guard against being too amped up. OM gave up 38 points to Louisville, and Louisville QB didn't look good for the first 35 minutes of the game. The Rebs D can be had if the LSU QB is on point and OL protects well enough. I'm am hopeful that Leavitt is getting a better feel for receiver selection, timing and working on not staring down the receiver before releasing the low trajectory ball that can be easily knocked down by opposing line defenders. He was much better after the first 25 minutes passing the ball. LSU looks like a physically impressive team with areas for specific improvement offensively and potentially a very stout defensive unit. Kiffin and all staff had these dudes ready last Sat night. Now we should see how they coach to maintain focus game by game. I'm leaning LSU to win on the road over OM for now based on the effectiveness of two defenses facing outstanding play making QBs. A great defense is going to win LSU close games and I am very encouraged thus far with the Tiger D. Including their depth.
