AJ Surace or Dylan Lonergan: Who will be Rutgers' starting quarterback against Boston College?
Summary
QB/TE: I went back and watched every throw Lonergan made against UMass, and was looking at personnel and the TEs just to see how KC used them.
I went back and watched every throw Lonergan made against UMass, and was looking at personnel and the TEs just to see how KC used them. The math may not work out as I was tracking them quickly, so apologies if they’re a little off.
He had 31 drop backs, including Penalties. 27 were in 11 personnel with the TE inline or wing. The other 4, he had the TE flexed. I don’t think i saw 4 wide receivers in any set.
He kept the TE in to block 4x. Most of the TE releases into routes were sits….think I counted 15. Not well run, as most were in man, so the TE was Covered easily. 2 were 5 yard outs. Looked like 5 seam routes, or at least a long route off the screen. There was one seam route with Rothhaar, but it was a screen to Raymond, so the route was to run off Coverage.
