It seemed DJ was really playing out of 3 to 4 base calls to simplify the defense. Along with the blitzes it forced thier QB into hurried passes. Maine has a really good running game but their receiver's are not as seasoned. I am hoping this came down to scouting. Their were several drop passes but thier were alot of passes that were not on target and the Maine QB was under duress when he threw the ball. I am hoping this is what I saw with some of their receiver's being opened. I am pretty confident if it was a a lack of effort that will be exposed and dealt with. But in a few instances those passing lanes where left exposed. As sort of to say its there, see if you can block my guys and hit them because if not we will keep coming at you. I think we will see more of a cover 4 against ECU. If the DL holds up time will tell. DJ is really smart.
