RB/LB: A running back cuts to the first daylight that he sees and is simultaneously opposite of his next step which becomes his plant foot.
A running back cuts to the first daylight that he sees and is simultaneously opposite of his next step which becomes his plant foot. He also knows where his blocking is supposed to be and whether the play is going near side or wide side. As such, there is no right or wrong cut to choose from. The cut just turns out to be what it will be.
