Syracuse head coach Fran Brown met with the media on Monday to discuss the Orange's season opening win against New Hampshire, preview the upcoming matchup with California and update the status of his team. That includes the injury/availability of some key players.  WR Justus Ross-Simmons: "They just said he could come back and we'd been practicing all that time," Brown said. "That wouldn't be healthy for him to just let him to go in and play right away. Then all the other guys that have been here playing. It's just his opportunity. It's going to come this week. I'm excited about the opportunity we have playing with him this week."  RBs Ahmad Miller and Ju'Juan Johnson: "They should be able to play. They should be playing this week. I'm excited about them coming back."  WR Calvin Russell: "He's already working and doing things, so in a few weeks. He should be back in the next few weeks."  DB Tedarius Hughes: "He had a small issue with his knee. He will probably be back in a couple weeks also. They might come back together (with Russell). It might be a (Miami) Northwestern thing where they just come back together. So we'll see how it goes. Batman and Robin, they get back. He'll be fine, though. He'll practice again today and be ready to go. He should be fine by the end of the week. If not, next week."   Ross-Simmons is working back into football shape after being declared eligible. Miller and Johnson were both held out last week with undisclosed injuries. Russell tore his achilles during spring ball and is recovering from that.  SUPPORT CUSENATION.COM SUBSCRIBE TO CUSENATION TO ACCESS TO VIP ARTICLES AND THE VIP MANLEY ZOO FORUM FOLLOW PUBLISHER MIKE MCALLISTER ON X (FKA TWITTER) FOLLOW CUSENATION ON X (FKA TWITTER) FOLLOW CUSENATION ON INSTAGRAM LIKE/FOLLOW CUSENATION ON FACEBOOK
