I don’t think it is so simple as keeping everything Fisch does well and having something as critical as managing the QB and offense be taken over by a proven OC that takes things in a different direction. Does a top OC join a head coach that is used to managing QBs and the offense and in a way that forced a change? Would the new OC get to select a different type of QB than Fisch and shift the offense and play calling dramatically, or even tweak the system in any significant way to make it his own? I don’t know that a top OC would want to have Fisch looking over his shoulder or the previous approach to cloud his ability to implement his own system and attract a style of QB that fits it. I think you have to live with a coach’s strengths and weaknesses and his ability or inability to learn and adjust in subtle ways. Or you make a change to another coach whose system and overall approach you prefer and that may include a change of QBs and some other players that better fit that new system and coaching style. I think these things are decided during the head coach selection process, rather than later as you try to redefine important aspects of that coach’s approach.
