For a first game with new people & new system, the D looked good. Certainly had their O line spooked for much of the game. They will look good next weekend. The O has more to do. QB has to improve his reads; this was a tough “speed of the game” baptism. WR’s have to focus on the catch. Dropsies hurt. I hope Freeman is back. The commentator’s discussion about better UW DB speed was pretty irrelevant. Leach’s wide receivers were never as fast as the top teams DB’s, yet we almost always had receivers open & available because they ran good routes. Nobody will be able to rush 3 and drop eight against this offense. If the wide receivers now learn to run good routes, and the quarterback learns where they will be in time to release properly, the passing game will be fine. That will also help solve the happy feet problem.
