I don’t like what I see from Fickell. He understands what needs to change but seems incapable of effecting change. How many times are we going to get to half against a good team only to sleepwalk the entire second half. I wasn’t expecting to win last night but it’s intolerable that his teams are unlikely to play a 60 minute game, regardless of the opponent. Last night wasn’t a talent issue. Bizarre decisions to use a walk-on running back as a kick returner and his constant mismanagement of timeouts is grating in me. We use timeouts because we’re either slow to get the play called or because our qb is out to lunch. He burned two last night to avoid taking a delay of game. I watch enough non Badger football to recognize that it’s a Fickell issue.
