Shay got a lot right. It wasn't all disaster. A lot of self-inflicted wounds; then some awful officiating that wasn't just "oh darn, that wasn't a hold," but a friggin TD taken away, a TD practically given (on our fumble TO/not an incomplete pass)' a blown chip-shot FG (that may have been good), and by the late 3rd and 4th quarter, you just have a team that has gotten worn down both physically and mentally. Then we have to go for it on some 4th downs and don't get them (essentially TOs), or get points, and that's all she wrote. It wasn't a 22-27 point game - look at the team stats. First game of the season, on the road, w a new D-II QB, 48 new players, hot/humid, every call against you (and again, worth actual, real points), I'm not one to scream the sky is falling, who's our new coach, why does BC suck forever, etc. I say 2-1 going into the Va Tech game - let's see how that goes, and we'll know more about the season then.
