I have experience in the political world, and there are all sorts of things that if you ask people, they hate. They hate negative ads. They hate texts. Etc. Campaigns do all sorts of things that would fail a "Ray Charles" test, because for all the complaints about them, they tend to achieve their desired outcomes. Now, there are certainly negative ads that backfire. You can definitely exhaust donors and turn them away. There are certainly scenarios where the costs in practice vastly outweigh any projected positives. That very well may be the case in this situation, but a bunch of people on social media being upset is not the way to measure whether or not this was a good idea. The real question is: does Glory, Glory have the leadership to pivot strategy should this be a dud (or worse.) That is far more important, because it goes to the potential success of the outfit in the long-run. I have no idea the answer to that question.
