Do we really want to stay in SEC after this?
Summary
Intel: As much as I want to stay in the SEC, if this doesn't come to some sort of amicable resolution soon, I just don't see a path forward.
As much as I want to stay in the SEC, if this doesn't come to some sort of amicable resolution soon, I just don't see a path forward. This is targeted, and the rules are being enforced for some, not for others. If we lay over and take punishment, when we haven't broken any rules, how can we be certain that would be the end of it? Say we do pay some sort of fine and suspend Kiffin for the McNeese game. What happens this winter during the portal if Tennessee accuses us of tampering? We gonna go through this whole charade again? We going to be threatened to be expelled again? We gonna take a post-season ban based on an accusation? Obviously the SEC is trying to set the precedent that they can levy punishments as they see fit whether a rule was broken or not. I just don't see how we can operate like that. Competition and fairness go hand in hand. We can't expect to compete if the rules aren't going to be equally applied to all the members of the conference.
