- Simmons good! Did what he had to do. Can’t complain about anything there. - Oline not good. QB’s stayed clean but boy they were not good in the run game. I won’t panic because I very much remember them not playing well against Central Arkansas either but boy it was bad tonight. Starters and especially backups. Lange in particular was a bit turbulent but he’s a true sophomore so it’s whatever. - Great night for every receiver that played besides Goodie. They very much made this game feel like a mismatch. - Sione Laulea. Elijah Dotson. Jeremiah Beasley. Thought these three were outstanding tonight. Positive sign for that defense. - Obvious to everyone watching that there was just no juice in the third quarter. Picked up a bit when they let Zollers rip a throw to Montgomery and run in for a touchdown. Also, very very limited sample but I thought Hatfield and Warner showed some burst with their carries. Ultimately meaningless given where they are on the depth chart but it certainly gave the sideline something to latch onto. - Bury the tape games for a lot of the reserves on defense. Run fits were atrocious. Probably not a big deal unless 4-5 starters get hurt but still. The reserve secondary was night-and-day worse. all told, even in spite of a dreary second half, they went out and manhandled a team by 40. The starters had them up 40-0 at half. It’s fine. Gave drink a lot of material to bring up in the second half which I’m sure he’ll take.
