The Good, The Bad, and The Beautiful
Summary
QB/LB: Relative to the incompletions a lot of them were caused by the fact that QB throws a hard ball.
Relative to the incompletions a lot of them were caused by the fact that QB throws a hard ball. I know the saying is a receiver should catch anything within his grasp but just saying. Also I think the receivers were frequently flinching anticipating contact. That's credit to NU's secondary. Even with these criticisms I thought their receivers looked talented. Big and physical and they found holes in the defense with regularity. Many have criticized their receivers here but I think they will be a handful going forward.
I don't have the stats handy but I believe that the SDSU QB completed about 50% of 48 throws or so. Check me. That is an awful lot of throws and in today's world a so-so completion percentage. SDSU ran an exceptional number of plays (95 plus?) so NU's defense was on the field a lot. Further evidence of how well they did looking at the game's totality.
