Partially why I took some of the gushing over Jim Turner with a grain of salt and Schiano saying the 2026 backup OL would’ve been the starting OL etc. and I am not in the camp that thought Flats was untouchable. But I also don’t fall for the “marine who yells and sings karaoke = awesome hire.” People get all fired up over a little personality because we’re starved for info and entertainment, we glom on to any ounce of it. The reality is the best two LT under Schiano 2.0 are one that he let go to UCLA and one he was fortunate enough he walked on. You can mix and match the interior OL and make it work but if you can’t solve LT, you’re really behind the eight ball. And either Needham regressed (I think we all admit he’s better at RT but is at LT out of necessity) or so far Turner hasn’t made an impact. Catch phrases are fine as a mantra but saying violence isn’t the same as playing with violence.
