That's pretty much it. That's why they cross the face of opponents and have guys pop up in a different gap than their original alignment. That's why they get multiple players on third down up front and some drop and some rush. It's not slanting from a head up spot to an adjoining gap. It's movement across the front with multiple reads as to which gap you would fill. For example, if a tackle gets in a pass set, the edge goes into the B gap. If the tackle blocks down, then the edge attacks the B gap and spills the play to the backer scraping behind them and over the top to the outside C gap. There are a lot of moving parts.
