I’ll admit I’m naive as to how this works but have a couple of questions on Dabo’s potential buyout.
Can Clemson pursue a negotiation with Dabo based on a “breach” of contract by not utilizing the available resources (NIL $, portal) at his disposal to do his job to the best of his ability? It seems when you do not do what every other person in his position across the country is doing that you can be held accountable for that in some way.
At what point does Clemson say “we can pay Dabo $X over the next __ years or lose $20M+ per year in revenue to the lack of attendance at games?”
I’m just trying to determine if there is a way around paying the full buyout or at least leveraging this when having some of those tough conversations with Dabo this offseason.
