WSU releases first official depth chart of the season with 12 OR's
Summary
Injury: WASHINGTON STATE RELEASED its first official depth chart Wednesday ahead of the Kansas State game at 9 a.m.
WASHINGTON STATE RELEASED its first official depth chart Wednesday ahead of the Kansas State game at 9 a.m. on Saturday (TV: TNT) and what immediately stood out is the 12 ORs across the many positions. The Cougars' starters were mostly listed as standalones, but there were a couple of starting positions with OR's listed.
Another note at tight end is that neither Trey Leckner nor Hudson Cedarland are listed on the depth chart as they nurse injuries. Peyton Read isn't either, but it's unclear if that's injury-related or not. Other injured players are listed, including wide receiver Tony Freeman who seemed unlikely to play on Saturday earlier in the week per Kirby Moore.

WSU declined to issue a depth chart before the opener at UW.
Here is how the depth chart reads on offense.
QB: Caden Pinnick/Owen Eshelman OR Julian Dugger
RB: Kirby Vorhees/Maxwell Woods OR Leo Pulalasi
WR: Darrius Clemons OR Branden Ganashamoorthy
WR: Tony Freeman/Tank Hawkins
WR: Daniel Blood/Jordan Dees
TE: Jack Pedersen/Beau Baker
LT: Ashton Tripp/Maximus McCree
LG: Kyle Martin/Chris Lino
C: Noah Dunham/Arion Williams
RG: Nick Bakken/Sone Falealo OR Turner Bertrand
RT: Jonny Lester/Jaylin Caldwell
It's interesting that McCree ends up being listed at left tackle despite playing right all through spring and fall camp. But on the other hand, left tackle is indeed where he had already played. Lino being on the interior with his 6-8, 316-pound frame gives a bit of a callback to Cody O'Connell (6-9).
There aren't any huge surprises with how this is listed, besides perhaps Clemons and Ganashamoorthy both being listed as starters. In addition, it is mildly surprising that veteran OL Xavier Thorpe didn't make the two-deep at either a guard or tackle spot.
Meanwhile on defense ...
EDGE: Linus Zunk/Malachi Wrice or Eduwa Okundaye
DT: Jirah Leaupepetele OR Damarjhe Lewis
DT: Kaden Beatty OR Paul Hutson III OR Josh Wedel
EDGE: Matyus McLain/Ben Beatty OR Michael Hughes
WIL: DJ Warner/Isaiah Hung
MIKE: Keith Brown/Nylan Brown or Jack Ellison
Nickel: Jamarey Smith/Ishmael Gibbs
CB: Khamari Terrell/CJ Solis-Lumar
S: Jaylen Thomas/Jshawn Frausto-Ramos OR Trey Ridley
S: Jeremiah Bernard/Jackquintin Bal OR Kyle Peterson
CB: Jalil Tucker/Kai Rapolla
The defensive tackles are notable because it signifies that the Cougar coaches publicly put all five DTs on equal footing. It's also a significant signal of trust in Wedel, who was largely off the radar until fall camp.
It's also interesting that the EDGEs are listed as such and not as defensive ends, a bit odd considering they are listed as defensive ends on the roster.
Ellison is included at MIKE although he didn't play on defense on Sunday, as are Ridley and Peterson. But also, the Cougars just list the two players as safeties, rather than specifying strong and free safeties.
And for special teams ...
KO: Miguel Arenas/Jack Stevens
FG: Jack Stevens/Miguel Arenas
H: Max Dean/Josh Lijesen
P: Max Dean/Josh Lijesen
LS: Sean Bures/Jeremy Sousa
PR: Tony Freeman/Tank Hawkins
KR: Jalil Tucker/Tank Hawkins
