I don’t think it’s expecting too much for a coach in his 50s who’s known as a messaging master to not be a total whiner in every media spot he got. “I don’t get it, I didn’t get a chance to fix things”- my guy, you’re the one who broke it. All he had to say is “we accomplished a lot, didn’t reach the ultimate goal, it’s a tough environment the sport is in today, I look forward to elevating the program who gives me my next opportunity.” Truly, I wished him success after he was fired. From his GameDay spot forward he decided to be Petty James and it is really not a great reflection of who he is. And lest we forget, there’s a nonzero chance that he was planning to leave on his own accord if we didn’t win the title last year. The term “separation of no title won” I was told makes it sound like it could’ve gone either way.
