Dabo Swinney talks positives, negatives of Clemson's first scrimmage of spring
Summary
Clemson DB solid with depth, OL timeline unclear, Johnson/Gid promising, healthy Haynes/Green awaited, Anderson status unknown, OL/QB play/RB ability determine unit quality.
Defensive backfield should be solid with depth, think OL will be - hopefully early, but at some point. Johnson/Gid will be fun (EZ sounds like still EZ) and looking forward to seeing a healthy Haynes, and Green period. Nothing negative on LBs, except no mention of Anderson (is he still not full go? Haven't heard one thing about him either way). Heldt/Lawson fine but Mayo/Watford gotta step it up. Will miss AW for sure but sounds like more weapons than we can use (maybe even missing a QB that can use them correctly) to catch it. Not worried about TE's. I think we put a "better" unit on the field, but how much better will be OL and resulting QB play, RB ability to run IMO.
