In the first half, we couldn't run the ball, so WI was able to stop us by their defense scheme against the pass. In the second half we quit clogging up the backfeld with TE inserts, Absher improved the line blocking, and the backs played like they were in college. Once we started running the ball, the pass game opened up. It is true that an elite receiver or two will make the passing effective even if the defense is slanted against it. I expect significant improvement in the receivers as the season goes on, just don't yet know how much.
