(original post) Besides winning, what outcome and/or final score are you encouraged with? show more I look at this game different because I don't really think it means a whole lot in terms of the overall season especially in the context of 2026 ISU football, but I'm not encouraged by anything other than a win. That doesn't mean I'm completely discouraged by some sort of loss but losing 20-24 or something isn't some type of moral victory. Iowa has had outstanding consistency and longevity but they aren't some top tier program that's competeing for titles year in and year out. The only thing that would discourage me is if the defense looked wholly outmatched from a fundamental level because I do think that side of the ball has the talent and coaching to be really good.
