But, being totally objective here, we didn’t do ourselves any favors with the nature of some of our wins either. I’ve thought about this a lot, and I think we’re being deliberately biased a bit in our post-season rhetoric. In reality, I think you gotta view your record both in terms of actual wins-losses AND perception wins-losses. How many games did we look like a playoff team? I’d argue the 14-7 L to tOSU with a brand new QB right out of the box isn’t damaging at all really. But some of the technical wins? 27-10 W against UTEP? Perception L. 16-13 OT w against Kentucky? Perception L. 45-38 OT W against Miss State? Perception L. 24-20 at half in a key game to re-earn respect against Arkansas after getting whooped by Georgia? Perception L We only looked like a playoff team a handful of games last year, and that’s not just the Ls. We gotta do our job playing to the standard every week.
