Bold predictions: Tennessee at Georgia Tech
Summary
Pick/market: Tennessee’s 2026 season is off and running and GoVols247 is bringing back one of our staple features for each and every game: Our bold predictions.
Tennessee’s 2026 season is off and running and GoVols247 is bringing back one of our staple features for each and every game: Our bold predictions. The premise is simple – our three-man staff picks three things (basically prop bets) we think will happen in that week’s game, and the catch is those predictions have to be somewhere between adventurous and unrealistic, and creativity is appreciated. After blitzing Furman in the opener, Tennessee plays its first regular-season road non-conference game since 2022 at Georgia Tech on Saturday night in Atlanta (7 p.m., ESPN). The 18th-ranked Vols used a stellar debut by freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon and dominant defense to beat FCS Furman 56-9, two days after Georgia Tech was upset by Colorado in its season opener. Having already made our score predictions for the game, our three-man crew of Patrick Brown, Ben McKee and Ryan Callahan each makes a trio of predictions we think could happen in the game and explains why we think it will. How did we do last week? None of our first-touchdown-scorer predictions hit and Patrick came up just short of his 350+ rushing yards bold, but let’s shoutout Ben for his impressively close prediction of Brandon’s debut stat line – he was 13-of-17 passing for 226 yards and five total touchdowns (three passing, two rushing), and Ben’s bold was 12-of-16 passing for 236 yards and three total touchdowns (two passing, one rushing).
