Had a conversation with UW this morning. They're well aware and know things need to be fixed. I know people don't want to hear it and think everything is an excuse. It seems like the most popular time to leave a tailgate and go to the stadium is 12:30. Last week at 12:20, the gates were wide open and only 13,000 tickets scanned. At 12:30, only 20,000. They're equipped to scan 58,000 in an hour. They had a massive surge at 12:30. They know it needs to be fixed. Other things that led to the cluster getting in....... Wi-fi and cell coverage sucks. They had AT&T in this week trying to get better coverage. Bottom line is the cell phone companies aren't willing to spend millions for capital improvements for a stadium that only has 7 events a year. Lumen and T-Mobile combined over 300 a year. They're more than willing to spend for that. With cell and Wi-fi spotty at best, DOWNLOAD your tickets before you get in line. Waiting until the last minute is frustrating and slows things down. The late arriving crowd also caused problems for the food vendors. They weren't prepared for a late arriving crowd. They had the hot food items ready to go but with the crowd arriving late, they can only keep food for so long before it has to be dumped. They dumped a lot. With that being said, Aramark is a huge vendor. They need to be better. UW needs to be better. Fans need to arrive earlier. It's not realistic to show up to the gate 20minutes before kickoff and expect to get in right away. Leave your tailgate earlier. Arrive earlier. Again, UW need to be better, but showing up late and not expecting a line isn't reasonable. DOWNLOAD your tickets before arriving. Spread the word. I know how some out here digest things. They don't want excuses. They just want the problems fixed. There's always context. It's not an excuse. But in order to fix these issues, it's something UW AND fans need to be better.
