On the other hand, while it would not impact nattys at all, at least bowl games wouldn’t be as meaningless. Being ranked 24 is not good for blue bloods. Win a couple playoff games, and now you feel MUCH better about your team. Florida wouldn’t care about playing north Texas or San Diego state. But we sure as heck wouldn’t mind playing a conference champion after a couple playoff wins.
