This is very simple. They brought on the failure of a defensive coordinator who was horrible when he was at Purdue with Coach Ryan Walters. Danny Hope took us to bowl games but made a big mistake by not replacing coaches that were not capable of getting Purdue football to the next level, or should I say back to the simple years ago under Coach Brahm , who took us to the Big Ten championship. I am sure the level of talent because of the N IL is not at Purdue as we rank last, but I think those defensive players are not the issue. It’s the defensive coordinator and it is a question that Coach Odom needs to explain to all of us that loved Purdue football, why he hired someone with a proven track record while at Purdue that was horrific. This coach is again doing what he did in the past with similar results. Our defense is not competitive for Big Ten football. The discipline, the mistakes, and the coaching are obvious, and we won’t win another game all year. You can’t win games with poor defense, and while respectable, nor with a positive attitude.
