Jordan Dwyer update
Summary
QB/WR: If I’m being honest I don’t give a ***** whether we run Craig or not.
If I’m being honest I don’t give a ***** whether we run Craig or not. Would like to see him take grass when it’s available and become a threat in short down and distance but I’d expect that from any QB in CFB. It’s hard for me to reconcile that you can complete downfield passes because you lost a good, not great, WR in Dwyer. That just doesn’t compute. I can’t shake the feeling that Sonny and Sammis drilled ball security into Craig to the point that they broke the kid. Feelings are irrelevant but it sure feels like they stole the kids identity. He played loose and confident for 3 straight years and now all the sudden he’s turned into a kid that looks like he’s uninterested in being a difference maker? None of this makes sense to me. I’ve been vocal since the spring that we weren’t going to be very good football team but it never occurred to me that we would turn into a conservative, risk averse football team. Offense looked like it didn’t even want to compete. Craig embodied that in game 1 and they better figure out how to reverse that. For all the Sammis criticism, I watched almost every bit of film I could get my hands on from his 2 years of play calling and some of these problems were the same. He definitely had moments of being too conservative. His offense was most effective when it was exploiting space and pushing the ball down the field. Craig is no Fagiano but he’s better than Sammis is using him. OPEN UP THE OFFENSE!
