Texas A&M came away with a 48-20 victory over Arizona State on Saturday at Kyle Field, moving the Aggies to 2-0 on the season. The Aggies finished the game with 257 total yards, including 92 rushing yards and 163 passing yards. Rueben Owens led the way on the ground with 35 yards and a touchdown, while Isaiah Horton finished with 33 yards and two touchdowns  Here are some takeaways from GigEm247's Tony Catalina, Cade Draughon, and Jackson DiPasquale. IN-GAME THREAD: [Arizona State vs Texas A&M] Tony Catalina 1. As SEC play kicks off next week, I think the name of the game for A&M will be consistency. Through the first two weeks, the offense has sputtered at times and, in the same breath, looked great. Defensively, the same pattern has held, though maybe a little more consistently than their offensive teammates. As good as they've been at limiting most of ASU's playmakers, they just never adjusted to Reed Harris, allowing the Sun Devils' WR to have a field day. Again, another game where the Aggies will have much to learn from in a win. 2. Marcel Reed has to find his comfort. Happy feet in the pocket, one-read route combinations, and forcing throws that aren't there; it was all over the place Saturday. There will be several throws he will wish he had back, and some decisions he knows better than to make. The talent is there, and it flashed throughout the day. But if A&M is going to reach the heights they aspire to, Reed needs to become the best version of himself quickly. Cade Draughon 1. The situation at the guard spot along the offensive line has got to improve. It was a question coming into the season and those concerns popped up in the first two games. It's not like the personal they have is incapable. It seems to be more of issue knowing assignments and reading stunts and twists.  Once we get into SEC play, if this is still an issue, it might cost you a spot in the playoff. However, I trust Elko and Cushing to iron out these issues and put the best players on the field while giving them the best chance to succeed.  2. Isaiah Horton is emerging as that KC Concepion level star they'll need to lean on throughout the season. How many times last year did you see Concepcion make a big play and swing the momentum of the game? We've seen Horton play at that level the first two games of the season.  The only thing I'd like to see more of is targets his way. You obviously don't want to force the ball in his direction if he's not open, but drawing up plays specifically for him outside of just fade or jump balls would be ideal. Jackson DiPasquale 1. While Daymion Sanford's first game of the 2026 is still to be determined, Texas A&M LB Ray Coney really emerged as one of the leaders on the Aggies defense today finishing with 5 total tackles, 3 solo tackles, one tackle-for-loss.  Coney's emergence as a productive player defensively bodes well for the Aggies going forward and expecting more solid performances like today in the future. 2. Like I predicted in my pregame prediction, special teams played a big factor in today's game versus Arizona State. Bravion Rogers made some big plays in punt/kickoff coverage and TK Norman had the huge fumble recovery on the muffed punt that led to an Aggies touchdown early on. David Olano continues to be a reliable asset in the kicking game nailing a 22 yard field goal. The Aggies special teams units were the difference in today's win.
