Tech adopted the strategy of playing prime-time televised games against P4 opponents to start the season. It's good for our TV ratings which impact the revenue distribution from the ACC. By playing these games early, when people are starved for football and most of the other games feature a beatdown of some cupcake, the TV revenue becomes a big incentive. We also had sell-outs the first two games and sold a lot of beer. The downside to this is having to play those high-profile games when the team is still working through the challenges of new players and new coordinators. It didn't work out so well, but the whole ACC slate is still ahead of us. We will roll over Mercer, and then find out what we have against a very beatable Stanford team.
