On offense, spacing wins now in CFB Speed is easier to utilize to win games than big bodies There are many offensive schemes that utilize that as core concepts - I personally would run the offense that is the quickest with the widest spacing because BY DEFAULT that formation will allow clearer running lanes right out of the gate just by lining up. if you start a formation bunched up, it is harder to self-start a running lane. On defense, if you can't get to the quarterback or pressure them enough.. you just won't win consistently.
