Afternoon Dust, yes, everything will be fine in England. Cheerleader ASU fans will wave their Pom Poms with delight bc ASU is better than Kansas. How Dilly could possibly watch that game film on the flight to London and not notice he failed his team between a definition of insanity run replacement and squandering his team’s talent is impossible, right? Or, is he too much like Mike Norvell and Gus Malzhan? Cutter Boley is not Sam Leavitt and Dilly knew that, right? He was wanting someone who could spin the ball and turnovers would happen but at a lesser rate than the touchdowns. Well, the turnovers happened but not amidst the scheme which was supposed to change to utilize high end receivers as downfield threats and QB arm talent, decision making. The way Dilly called the game yesterday. Fette and Keene would have produced similar, possibly better and that’s not the point. The point was to utilize what is better about CB8. Dilly also failed the kids he brought in to shore up a lack of a full service RB. Kyson Brown has never been a full service RB. He, Rigdon, and sadly Gillis showed no contact balance yesterday. Jason Brown still sits. The best part of ASU’s short distance running game was Boley’s big body. He rumbles more than runs. Unfortunately, that part is not really conducive to RPO but, it’s a known commodity and fine. There’s a time to be cute and a time to trust your talent- Dilly needs to do the latter.
