OL Question
Summary
QB/OL: After just having reviewed the offensive plays, I would say it is a mixture of things that lead up to poor performance.
After just having reviewed the offensive plays, I would say it is a mixture of things that lead up to poor performance. Sometimes one person just loses their matchup and it effects the play. Unfortunately on the Oline if 4 players play well and 1 guy messes up, it can just mean the play doesn't work, and that is sometimes the case. We have also had too many instances where they bust their responsibility or don't seem to understand what they are supposed to to (doubling when they should be climbing or leading). It is also true in the last game, that their were many instances where it actually wasn't their fault and that the QB or RB just made the wrong decision when they had done their job well. Tait had quite a few of those this game. Johnson (RB) also had a couple of times in which the blocking was good and there, and for whatever reason, he just ran into the other team and didn't take the path he was supposed to. It is all a mixture of that right now and unfortunately it seems like we just can't get everything together on most plays. Someone is messing up on most plays right now. That to me is coaching. Seems like a knowledge issue mainly. Sadler was just bad. The first half was dreadful.
