“Really bad” compared to what?!?! a national championship level team? Sure, I guess. Compared to this team, it isn’t even close. That team went 6-5, and if not for a bad punt snap against GT and a really weird game at Duke, would have been 8-3. Heck, I was there in Coral Gables when we beat a top-10 Miami team. And though the score wasn’t quite as one-sided, we actually physically dominated the gamecocks more that year in a 29-7 win then we did the previous year (the 63-17 game). The year is not remembered fondly because we gave ourselves a ban on postseason because of the brawl, but the 2004 team would beat this team by 17+ points. I can’t imagine this team going on the road and beating a top 10 team. I’d love for them to prove me wrong, but we are so far away from the level of competency needed to beat a team like that.
