Good question. Offensively, one guy that jumps out right away is Vernell Brown III. His speech to the team during the Gauntlet workouts showed his leadership and the respect he has from players. It's interesting to think about the offensive line, which had a couple veterans in Jake Slaughter and Austin Barber leading the way. I'm honestly not sure who would be a captain from that group. Knijeah Harris is the lone senior, but he seems to be one of the quietest and reserved players on the team. I think it's important for Jadan Baugh to be more of a leader this year, and obviously whoever wins the starting QB needs to provide that as well. Defensively, two captain candidates are Myles Graham and Kamran James. Graham and James both showed those qualities last year, especially during the losses and coaching change. They were active voices in the locker room that tried to keep the team playing hard. The coaches have praised Brendan Bett all offseason for taking on a leadership role and being more vocal in workouts, so he's definitely another candidate. It sounds like he has really grown and matured since his spitting incident against USF. Some other defenders that will have a vocal presence this year are Aaron Chiles, DJ Coleman and Bryce Thornton.
