Ryan Browne: Coach Killer
Summary
QB/WR: Anyone that watched Ryan yesterday should have seen the improvement.
Anyone that watched Ryan yesterday should have seen the improvement. Remember how putrid David Blough was early in his career, then suddenly he clicked and started to reduce turnovers and make plays, improve his %, make a difference. Browne appears to be on the same curve. I do sense the staff is terrified he will get hurt, as they are clearly avoiding running him. The backups might be scary. The line isn't protecting well, very few FBS qbs can excel under that amount of pressure, yet Ryan had a pretty decent game. Ijeboi did well without many real holes. Browne 76% 0 turnovers 329 yards 149 QB rating Those are very solid numbers, especially considering the pressure applied. Go and watch any QB across the country, scrutinize each play and you find lots of missed open wr, late throws, weak decisions. Look at the overall numbers, Ryan is one of the few bright spots on a weak team. This fan base in it's frustration over losses is going to drive him away just as he starts to pay dividends. Yesterday Ryan had a nice game, didn't win it, but to be fair in OT for the 2 pt conv we ran it, didn't make it. At the end of regulation the first two run calls seemed like they had very little chance with the defense bunched up inside the 10. Ryan was not the given as many tries to be the hero as the running game. I thought he might have been the better option. IMO Ryan is one of the athletes on the plus side. I'm not sure why all the attacks, when clearly the staff clearly thinks he's the best we have. If we win any future games this season, my guess is Ryan will be the reason.
