Can We All Agree…
Summary
QB/OL: The coaching is beyond terrible and that is the defensive staff and I am also including the OC.
The coaching is beyond terrible and that is the defensive staff and I am also including the OC. Kirk ‘s offense has led to most of the 7 interceptions. Like most of last year until the last 2 games, he never gives his qB an outlet or never calls a swing pass. The easiest throw in the game that our opposition routinely uses against us. All Raymond had to do if chip and turn around and any blitz or offensive line missed block gets neutralized and drive continues. Kirk drawing up 2 throws for Surace over the middle where the linebacker hid and dropped back for the pick were terrible for an inexperienced Surace but absolutely criminal for Kirk. Especially since he has an All American wide receiver and was unguardable and just caught a 78 yard td and converted a 4th and 3 minutes before. Plus he has a 4’3 burner in Black , so 2 guys on the outside that have a good chance of winning their routes 75% of the time . Not keeping the ball out of the middle and not throwing to Duff should be a fireable offense or at least a demotion. His failure to have a downfield tight end game in his offense is also ridiculous. His belief as an OC that you have to just execute the same plays that are on film and you never use misdirection , motion, to dial up something different is asinine. defensively it was obvious in the UMASS and BC games that a spy was needed on the QB and extra pressure was needed so they couldn’t get comfortable. So what actually happens the QB becomes the leading rusher on scrambles out of the pocket that bail out the opposing offense on 3rd and long over and over. Not one adjustment to the QB the most important person on the other team. Now there was some adjustments defensively in the second half actually were flying to the ball and actually laying the wood like they didn’t the entire UMass game. Then the silly mistake by the safety to let the BC receiver get behind him are things that cannot happen but they continue to happen. The secondary actually look more functional in the second half. But why is it taking a half to see any improvement. Coaching coaching coaching. Committing 8 turnovers , 4 a game , 7 interceptions and one QB fumble will not win you many games. But yesterday we got 3 turnovers and did nothing with 2 of them because the Oc decided his tush push or mesh were good plays that few good coordinators in college football run. Coaching cost both losses but the BC loss probably is not a loss by any other coaching staff in America. Time for them to go.
