Utah coach Morgan Scalley described using Daniel Bray at RB or WR and Byrd Ficklin at WR or QB to complicate defensive personnel matching. Ficklin can still throw after a handoff or backward pass. Utah also mixes huddles with quick-to-the-line tempo; Scalley framed this as creating recognition pressure, not announcing a specific trick play.

Scalley praised Utah's OL and DL technique through two games, specifically inside-hand placement, leverage, pile movement and finishing. He still identified footwork corrections and said the team's identity remains unsettled this early, tempering the positive assessment of line physicality.
-
Scalley called Nate Ritchie's latest outing his best at Utah, highlighting tackling and pass breakups, and praised the linebackers' activity and physicality. He also singled out Hunter Andrews and Will Monney for blocking and Daniel Bray for hard running; these were film evaluations, not depth-chart changes.

Utah's special-teams review included Dillon Curtis making every PAT so far and driving kickoffs through the end zone, plus an Orion Phillips punt Scalley recalled netting about 60 yards. That supports the coach's positive field-position assessment, not a guarantee of field-goal range or future kicking accuracy.

Scalley's Utah State scouting report highlighted two athletic quarterbacks, the extra run-fit responsibility created by QB carries and speed on the perimeter. He described the Aggies' defense as sound, physical and a strong tackling unit; those are the opposing coach's evaluations, not independently graded performance figures.
