Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer hopes to get Michael Carroll back as the week develops. AK Dear had done light practice and was progressing; Noah Rogers traveled but was not expected to play at Kentucky, with a possible return in the next week or two. Zyan Gibson is expected back after illness. These are conditional updates, not confirmed game clearances.

DeBoer described Alabama's Kentucky running-back rotation as a hot-hand approach, with Daniel Hill earning his carries and younger backs still getting developmental opportunities. Trae'shawn and EJ Crowell were used on similar plays to build experience. Dear's eventual return would increase competition; DeBoer did not promise a fixed carry split.

DeBoer attributed Alabama's second-half rushing improvement at Kentucky to better execution and more favorable down-and-distance, not simply a new run scheme. Avoiding sacks and the early intentional-grounding setback kept the full playbook available. He also saw better line movement and downfield blocking, while early negative plays remain an important constraint.

The embedded Bama247 postgame analysis highlighted Keelon Russell's first-half turnovers and inconsistent RPO decisions before a much cleaner second half. Suggestions to simplify the offense or consider a backup were analysts' discussion, not announced staff changes. The useful concern is decision-making consistency; DeBoer's Monday remarks credited his composure in critical situations.

DeBoer praised Alabama's third-down defense, tackling and physical line play after the Kentucky win. The embedded postgame reporting also described extensive defensive rotation before the outcome was settled, including 18 players on one drive. That supports a depth-based approach, but two early-season coverage busts remained a concern in the analysts' review.
