If you have FS1, its the first highlight for full analysis: SDSU failed to even tag/bump the man up the middle, which should be an automatic score but it happened so quickly let's say the window closed. Even then, it seemed like the only option that was not open was the throwback (the RB in the flat and another guy ends up wide open underneath the initial open receiver). That's 3 options that would be a TD, so I'll push back on it being a bad play call. Also, I'm no QB coach nor do I play one on TV, but my guess is Nico is told to mail the throw rather than under throw it if a guy is not open, and we were fortunate that wasn't a pick 6. Feels like analyzing one play so intensely is unfair to Nico, but man did he stumble at every decision point in this play.
