So we’re screwed at RB?
Summary
QB/OL: I get the "hope" that a different RB would be an upgrade over Tyson.

No one is more popular than the backup QB for this exact reason. It's a mental byproduct of fandom where the assumption is made that someone else has to exist that can do a job better (and by extension that means the coaches are playing the wrong player). I think Jason Brown is probably a more upside back, but he averages a fumble per like 40-ish carries from what we've seen whereas this was Kyson's very first career fumble. Kyson is our best blocker, so you lose out on important protection, especially in the passing game if you put any other back in. If you don't run with Kyson but put him in to block on passing downs then you are telegraphing your plays. Also with the issue our tackles on the Oline are having I think it's fair to say that the RB picking up blocks during pass protection is VERY important on this team. When I say he averaged 5 yards a carry it's not that I think it's amazing. It's that looking at the stats ALL the RBs averaged that. By the talk you would assume that Kyson ran statistically worse when he touches the ball than these other guys people are clamoring for but that was not the case at all. So my question is simple: If Kyson is our best blocker, and If nobody is out shining Kyson on runs by averaging more YPC, and Typically and historically Kyson has the best ball security, then Why the need to change and is it worth it for someone that "looks" like they have more upside but has yet to put it on paper in a statistical way anyone can point to as proof that they should possibly be starting over Kyson? It seems more like a knee jerk " we don't like that we lost so let's crap on everyone that didn't play a great game" type response than a well reasoned one based upon any kind of factual data. It's more hope and feels and thinking you see something than anything you can put your actual finger on.
