Update on Matthew Mayich's collapse from family attorney
Summary
Intel: This is too reminicent of Ray handling Herm's cheating scandal.
This is too reminicent of Ray handling Herm's cheating scandal. He just downplayed everything and said the coach did nothing wrong and circled the wagons while removing more and more media from the situation around him and football. He constantly talked about being in contact with the NCAA and internal compliance to make sure they were doing everything right and made it seem like no bowl ban or major punishments other than the self imposed stuff would ever come. Then it did come and screwed CKD and that entire team in his first year, and set athletics back. You can't be out there downplaying everything and then get hammered later without fans and donors losing all confidence in your leadership and developing an unwillingness to trust you and work with you. Nobody I know wants to spend their money supporting an admin that props up those whom put our student ahtletes lives at risk.
