Louisville DT Demeco Kennedy is unlikely to play against SMU, according to Jeff Brohm. Brohm is hopeful RB Keyjuan Brown, RT Cason Henry and DL Bailey Abercrombie return, but did not clear them. Kalib Perry received temporary eligibility Monday; that development should not be treated as permanent eligibility or a guaranteed snap assignment.

Louisville followed nine penalties for 82 yards against Ole Miss with seven for 90 yards against Villanova. Brohm singled out avoidable 15-yard fouls and warned of consequences, including removal from games; repeated discipline errors remain a concern rather than a resolved issue.

Louisville is preparing extra cooling equipment and hydration measures for the SMU game after the report's Monday forecast called for about 95 degrees. Brohm noted the team also practices in substantial heat this week; this is preparation context, not a freshly verified game-day weather forecast.

Containing Kevin Jennings's scrambling and extended plays is a stated Louisville defensive priority after he repeatedly hurt the Cardinals in the previous two meetings. Lincoln Kienholz's dual-threat work helps simulate that challenge in practice; Brohm did not announce a specific spy, coverage or lineup change.

SMU QB Kevin Jennings entered Louisville week 40-for-52 for 767 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions through two games. Brohm described him as an elite opponent and stressed his ability to extend plays with his legs. Those early results support the passing threat but do not establish what SMU will produce against Louisville.
