Avery's play in first two games
Summary
QB/RB: I still think he will, I think it will take a few games.
I still think he will, I think it will take a few games. But what I’m seeing isn’t bad. In fact, most of his players are pretty good, but he just doesn’t have that overriding desire to win at any cost. And his confidence just seems to be pretty fragile. I think that’s where Klein will help the most. But if you watch his footwork on some of the throws, it wasn’t aggressive it was rather tentative, and he almost had to finagle his body in order to make a throw, and those typically aren’t very good. Also, he had a lot of drops last year, and I put it on the receivers in my mind, but watching that game, there were multiple passes that were just not in the best place to catch, they weren’t terrible and they were usually caught, but they weren’t in the ideal Spot for the receiver to catch and move quickly. I remember a receiver was talking about how Peyton Manning yelled at him because if the cornerbacks on the left side, he’s going to throw it to the right knee and if it’s on the right side, he’s going to throw it to the left knee and there were multiple variations of that but basically get ready because the ball is not coming right to you and it’s not my throats. It’s because of how the defense is playing. I wish Avery had that problem. I don’t think he has a great understanding of where that Ball needs to be for the receiver to have an opportunity catch and go. Also on what looks like zone Reed plays, he pulls out without the ball and runs his fake and he is so wide open. It’s unbelievable. He would walk for 20 yards before somebody touched him, so he is either making the wrong Reed because they lose yards on those place typically or he doesn’t want to run it, but put bishop or L in those situations. You would have to stop that quarterback before he’s going to hand it off, if he can gain yards, he’s going to take it every time and then the running back becomes that much more dangerous, I guess I just see Avery has too much of trying to be a game manager and not a winner.
