The Sept. 17 report says LSU listed Sam Leavitt as doubtful ahead of Ole Miss. Doubtful is not the same as ruled out, and the article notes uncertainty about whether he will miss the game. It does not confirm a replacement starter or provide a new medical diagnosis.

LSU's printed depth chart lists Husan Longstreet second, but Landen Clark took the first backup snaps in both opening games. The report says that matches Clark's offseason progress while Leavitt was recovering during spring. Actual usage favors Clark as an option, but neither that usage nor the chart confirms Saturday's starter.

In relief against Clemson and Louisiana Tech, Clark completed seven of 10 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown and ran seven times for 42 yards. Those are encouraging but limited backup reps, not evidence that he has already handled a full game against a top opponent.

Scouting sources describe Clark as a strong-armed athlete who can extend plays, handle designed quarterback runs and operate in the RPO game. LSU viewed that as a fit for Lane Kiffin's offense. The scouting assessment identifies possible options if Clark is needed; it is not an announced Ole Miss game plan.
