Our coaches will have good game plans and if we execute and believe in ourselves we have a great chance of winning on Saturday. Fresno runs a 4-2-5 defense somewhat similar to SC’s 4-2-5. Our O.line has an opportunity to create a lot of trouble. This will be another big test for O.line who have been playing hard. Good pass blocking against the 4 man front means that Fresno will probably have to blitz with a db, leaving their other dbs in one in one coverage with our wideouts. We will have an advantage in those matchups. Likewise if Weaver and Bates can run against only 6 in box, Fresno again will have to bring in a 7th guy to box, opening up our wideouts for big plays.. We need a couple of deep passes for tds . On defense, a few guys have been making most of the plays. Those guys need to make even more , and some others have to step up. We need our LBs to play every game and play as MW All-Leaguers. No reason all 4 of them cannot be big time difference makes every game. They are all solid, now they need to be guys who win games for us. Our rotating 9 defensive linemen have stayed fresh and have been fairly effective. We allowed a few runs around the left edge against Poly and we need to correct that. Mr. Jayden has shown he can compete on a D1 field, now he has to show that he can be a difference maker, he needs to get a pick on one of those routes he likes jumping and be more physical in his tackling. Caleb has been really solid at the other corner and has taken his opportunity to play and run with it. He’s been nails. Two safeties need to continue to work on fundamentals and understanding schemes so their effectiveness will grow as season continues. If coaches and players believe they will win, we should win. Play good solid football and not be over hyped or makes overly aggressive late hits or coaches go for it on 4 th when we shouldn’t or run a trick play we haven’t set up, we should win this game.
