For the record I don’t think Arch should have been hammered by the media and once he apologized everyone should have just moved on. I also don’t think the video was funny. I don’t think someone should be encouraged to use video or AI generated images of slapping women. Obviously others don’t feel that way and that’s their prerogative. We all come at things and form our opinions based on our frames of reference. As a clinical social worker who has worked in the field for 40 years my pov of images depicting violence against women may be different than others. I understand that. I also don’t take offense at the term woke, as it means some people aren’t asleep at the wheel at the social injustices that still persist in our society. I know that many try to use it as an insult. What’s funny to me is those people using as an insult are usually doing it when they themselves are complaining about something they perceive as unjust. Like the person who made the original post. I’m really looking forward to this weekend of football so hopefully the target of social media gets shifted to some other poor souls.
