Hugh Millen on with Softy breaking down game
Summary
QB: Hugh has a very narrow skill set, and he's very good at that one thing he does.
Hugh has a very narrow skill set, and he's very good at that one thing he does. I mostly enjoy listening to him. But at a certain point it gets tiresome to hear such vitriolic criticism of our current QB from a guy whose own UW career stats pale in comparison; and similar trashing of our current HC when he's NEVER been coach at the collegiate or professional level. Yes, he was in the NFL for several years - but he only really played significant time in one season, and otherwise kept bouncing around the league. Yes, he deserves respect. But he also should respect when maybe other people know what the hell they are doing and have done things he's actually never done himself before. Hugh Millen's UW stats vs Demond Williams, to date: Passing - HM 249/439 56.7% 2,657 yds 12 TD vs DW 352/494 71.3% 4,277 yds 34 TD [note how close the number of attempts are] Rushing - HM 2 yds DW 954 Nobody who saw Hugh play would expect him to have a lot of rushing yards. I simply put that stat up there to emphasize the point about Demond's overall game and skill set, and to further question the extent to which Millen out to be leveling this much criticism. I'm looking for a measure of humility and respect from an old Dawg for a young Dawg who is surpassing everything that Millen ever did on the field in college.
