Unfortunate timing for a health issue for me

I was supposed to be on a plane to London right now, but I started feeling a lot of discomfort on Saturday and then developed some pain and other symptoms yesterday that got worse overnight and this morning. Went to the doctor this morning and found out that I have small kidney stones, likely calcium oxalate. Someone made a joke about this very thing on the board in 2024 about my Arnold Palmer habit at games (I drink very little tea/lemonade overall fwiw), so perhaps the karma of that messed me up.
I understand this is fairly common, so some of you may have experienced this. I'd appreciate any responses or private messages with information that could help me. They appear to be small enough stones (several millimeters or so) that they should pass on their own over the next several days to a week or so. No stones large enough to require vibration treatment or something more invasive, it appears. But it's painful (apparently, the major source of the pain is as they move from the kidney to the bladder) in occasional waves. I'm on antibiotics and pain meds, but it's still painful and occasionally very much so.
I'm not a complainer or someone who shirks the demands of this job. I've never missed a game due to illness and haven't missed a practice since Dillingham was hired. But I can't travel overseas and do everything demanded of me on such a trip when I'm likely to feel this way for the next several days or longer, based on what the doctor said. I was advised not to go, especially because travel can dehydrate me more easily and I need the opposite to try to flush my system.
What led to this? Several things appear likely. My dad had kidney stones when he was around my age. It tends to have a hereditary risk factor. Hydration-wise, I've been exercising more and sweating more from that and from covering practices in August/September Arizona heat. Probably just not drinking enough water. Dietarily, I started intermittent fasting and changed my diet about two months ago to lose some weight and improve my energy and overall health. I've lost more than 10 pounds in that period. I consumed much less gluten and fewer carbs. But I substantially increased my intake of oxalate-rich foods (almonds, spinach, certain types of beans, potatoes, beets, some berries and other items), which I didn't realize would increase my risk of kidney stones. Apparently, I should have been consuming more calcium-rich foods at the same time.
Anyway, this really stinks. I'm going to miss attending an important work trip and a game. I had plans there and wanted to see a lot of you and enjoy the experience. And I hold myself to very high work standards. It's very disconcerting.
All five of my interns (Gabby, Jake, Jakob, Joaquin and Luke) are already in London and they'll cover everything I would have been at, from practice and press conference tomorrow, all the way to the game itself. There will still be plenty of coverage and I'll try to do my normal game preview content. And of course, I'll watch the game on TV and spend my time in our game thread. It's going to be an odd experience for me because I've attended every ASU game since 2013, except for missing one for my sister's wedding (at UCLA in 2017) and one during the pandemic (at Oregon State in 2020).
I guess that's all there is to say about it.
