I thought the same thing with the timing of it….i think sam is banged up some but I also know lane realized that if Sam plays like he did last week against SEC opponents we might be in trouble, so he is leaning into this injury so if he has to pull him early for Clark this game he wont catch flack. He can point to Sams injury as the reason and not his performance. You can bet lane is evaluating Clark hard at this point and now he is getting more first team reps this week while Sam rests so he can be ready should he need to put him in. Lane will not wait till Sam turns the ball over 4 times before making a switch this week cuz he knows we might never come back against good competition. La tech is one thing, ole Miss is entirely different. Here’s to hoping if Sam starts he is more locked in and doesn’t force throws
